Support group for LGBTQ young people
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Questioning Young People face many issues in our society: it may be a struggle to understand your sexuality or tell those close to you what’s going on. However, the Warren’s very own SHOUT group is here specifically to help young LGBTQ people to be supported in all aspects of their journey.
Running for over 25 years, the Shout group is the only dedicated and confidential group for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Pan-Sexual or Questioning young people aged 14-25 in our locality. The group is completely confidential, which means we will never tell anyone who attends the group or advertise when the group runs, to keep everyone safe and respect young people who may not be ‘out’ in their sexuality.
Shout offers a wide range of activities: from serious issues and campaigns (such as Tackling Hate Crime, ‘Coming Out stories and sexual health) to fun team-building activities (such as movie nights, baking, art therapy and games nights). It’s also a great place to meet other LGBTQ young people and share experiences with people who may know exactly how you’re feeling. We also offer free contraception at each session.
If you think you might be interested in the Shout Group, you can contact the LGBT worker on 01482 218115 for an informal, confidential and no pressure chat.
