Revealing The Warren Youth Project's Newly Refurbished Facilities

It is an enormous privilege and pleasure to finally reveal The Warren Youth Project’s newly refurbished facilities. The most vulnerable and marginalised young people in our society need and deserve nothing less than the highest quality services and support. This is a very special building that provides exactly that. It is a model for youth work and youth arts that has been 42 years in the making by the young people of Hull.

We are a youth-led organisation, and without their relentless commitment, persistence and insistence, this simply would never have happened. They are truly inspiring and continue to be so, despite everything the world throws at them.

We owe an enormous debt of gratitude to the legions of supporters who have helped us to get this far — you know who you are. But special mentions must go to Liz Kenny, Adam Fulton, National Youth Agency, Social Investment Business, Department for Culture, Media and Sport, Hull City Council, Gemma Aked, Youth Investment Fund, and Adam Riley, and all those who generously gave their time to help us realise this grand ambition. We are a product of a community of the compassionate and the willing.

Our construction contractors, Zenith Developments Group, did an absolutely outstanding job in what was a very complex, old and dilapidated building. Special mention to Tom Tyler and Dave Cheshire from the Zenith team — for whom nothing was ever too much trouble.

Now back to the day job — and we’re only just getting started…
